Brutality Project Paralegal

Prisoners’ Legal Services (PLS) is seeking an outstanding full-time Brutality Paralegal to combat staff-on-prisoner assaults in Massachusetts prisons and jails. This paralegal will work to deter staff-on-prisoner assaults, to advocate for and provide legal assistance to impacted prisoners, and to increase community awareness of this problem. The Brutality Paralegal serves as the PLS expert on what is happening with staff-on-prisoner brutality in the MA prison system and is the go-to person for answers about brutality trends and policies. This position is full-time and supervised by the Brutality Project Director. Please find further information and how to apply here.

Law student Internships

(PLEASE NOTE: applications for Fall 2022 have closed, and we will begin accepting applications for Spring 2023 in October)

If you are a law student interested in interning at PLS, please contact Kristyn Huey at khuey [ @ ] plsma.org. You should include a cover letter, your resume, references, and writing sample as well as any particulars (when you want to intern, how many hours per week, for credit or on your own, etc.) about the internship you seek.

Northeastern University Undergraduate Student Internships

The only undergraduate students we are able to take on are those interning through Northeastern University’s Cooperative learning program, which places students with an organization full time for six months. If you are an undergrad student at Northeastern and are interested in a co-op at PLS, please submit your resume and a cover letter through Northeastern’s Co-op system. We are fortunate to receive funding through Northeastern to provide a stipend for this position.
