Finance Manager (contract position)
Prisoners’ Legal Services of Massachusetts (PLS) is pleased to announce a part-time contract Finance Manager position with our organization. This position will include budgets/accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and more. Please find further information and how to apply here.
REICI (Race Equity In Corrections Initiative) Paralegal
PLS seeks a full-time Paralegal to join our race equity team, REICI. REICI is an organization-wide effort to eliminate institutional racism and its impact on Black and Brown prisoners in the day-to-day operations of Massachusetts’ prisons and jails. REICI’s mission is to build awareness, solutions, and leadership to combat the discriminatory treatment of Black and Brown prisoners in correctional operations through client and legislative advocacy; community building and education; and litigation. The REICI Paralegal will engage in systemic, multi-forum legal advocacy and community engagement with duties including but not limited to litigation support and direct advocacy for BIPOC prisoner clients and their families with prison officials, medical and mental health providers. Law student Internships
(PLEASE NOTE: Applications for Summer 2023 are now closed.)
If you are a law student interested in interning at PLS, please contact David Milton at dmilton [ @ ] plsma.org and Kristyn Huey at khuey [ @ ] plsma.org. You should include a cover letter, your resume, two references, and a writing sample as well as any particulars (when you want to intern, for credit or on your own, etc.) about the internship you seek. Please note that law student internships are full-time only.
Northeastern University Undergraduate Student Internships
The only undergraduate students we are able to take on are those interning through Northeastern University’s Cooperative learning program, which places students with an organization full time for six months. If you are an undergrad student at Northeastern and are interested in a co-op at PLS, please submit your resume and a cover letter through Northeastern’s Co-op system. We are fortunate to receive funding through Northeastern to provide a stipend for this position.
